If it weren’t for tarpon fishing, and the absolute addiction that it has become to avid anglers all across America, Boca Grande would be just another sleepy little beach town on the South West Coast of our state. However, the “Silver King” has it’s hooks in everyone that has ever even thought about trophy fishing in saltwater. And that makes this would be sleepy little town a happening place this time of year.
We are dead smack in the middle of the heart of tarpon fishing here in Boca Grande, FL. We have more fish here now than we have seen in a decade. The pass has cleaned itself up from all the misguided beach renourishment projects of the past few years and the fish are absolutely loving it! It’s been quite some time now since we have seen so many fish come into, and stay in, the pass like they have this summer.
The bite in the pass has been unreal and the bite on the beach has been hard to beat at the same time. We’ve been averaging 7-9 hookups a day with some days getting as many as 20 bites. It’s been awesome.
If you enjoy fishing the pass, we can drop legal jigs and hook fish all day. If you prefer beach fishing, we can sight cast to pods of fish with crabs or live threadfin herring. The bite has been so good that we can literally choose what style of fishing we want to do for tarpon.
Don’t wait too long though as I will only be running tarpon trips in Boca for a few more weeks and I only have a few more days open. Call today to book your tarpon trip of a lifetime.
