We’ve just about put the big sticks we were using for tarpon fishing May June, and July away and are now starting to focus again on the three main inshore species. Redfish, snook, and trout will dominate out our fishing charters over the next several months.
The snook fishing has been good all spring and summer and only looks to get better from now through the fall. Right now, snook are on the beaches and in the passes and readily eating live scaled sardines, pinfish, and grunts. The best time to target them in on an outgoing tide. Preferably the start of any outgoing tide.
On the incoming water, we’ve been getting into good redfish and trout action. Scaled sardines have been the ticket for them. Look for the redfish and trout bite to even better as fall gets closer and our water temps drop below 85 degrees.
There’s also plenty of spansih mackerel and mangrove snapper to catch for those who are loking to fill a cooler full of fish. Summer is the best time for them and the bite has been good. Small sardines and live shrimp have been the best bets to catch them.
Most of our charters over the next several months will be run out of St. Petersburg which offers a wide variety of fishing situations. We have rivers, creeks, ouyster bars, beaches and flats that are favorites of redfish, snook and trout. If you’re looking to get in on the action, make sure to contact us today!
